Dancers wanted for NAMAs

The Namibian Annual Music Awards are calling on talented dancers to audition to perform alongside a line-up of stellar performers at this year’s biggest night in Namibian music.

The organising team will select the best of the best of Namibian dancers from a two-day audition event, open to aspiring dancers eager to join the official NAMAs dance crew.Auditions will take place on Friday and Saturday, 5 and 6 July, between 08h00 and 20h00 at Pulse Studios, Shop 42B, Old Breweries Complex, Tal Street (entrance from Garten Street) in Windhoek.Dancers need to be at least 18 years old and be either a Namibian citizen or legally be able to work in the country. They must bring along a valid ID, passport or birth certificate. Non-Namibian citizens must present a valid Namibian residence permit. The organisers emphasised that candidates arriving at the auditions without the required documents will not be considered. The NAMAs dance and performances department will this year be headed by former Miss Namibia, actress and experienced dancer Odile Gertze, who will oversee the process. “Our focus is to elevate the NAMAs every year and dancers are part of this exciting objective. We thus call on energetic dancers who simply sit at home shelving their art because of the lack of platforms to come out and showcase their talent,” said John Ekongo, member of the NAMAs organising committee.
