Diesel price decreases as road user charges go up

The price of diesel will be lowered by 80 cents per litre of 50ppm diesel and 60 cents per litre of 10ppm diesel on 7 June, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced.

In a statement released today, the ministry also said road user charges, which are levied to finance road maintenance and construction, will be increased by 30 cents per litre of fuel on 7 June.

Road user charges are currently 148 cents per litre of fuel, and will increase to 178 cents per litre.

The price of petrol will remain unchanged in June, the ministry announced as well.

Fuel prices at Walvis Bay will be N$19,78 per litre of petrol, N$19,05 per litre of 50ppm diesel and N$19,25 per litre of 10ppm diesel from 7 June.
