Early knock-off for public servants ahead of Independence Day

THE Office of the Prime Minister has announced that all public servants will conclude work at 10h00 on Thursday.

This is in light of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on Friday, 21 March.

This adjustment excludes staff members providing emergency and critical services.

In a notice released on Wednesday, secretary to Cabinet George Simataa said prime minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has authorised the directive.

“This is to allow staff members who wish to travel to commemorate Independence Day, as well as attend the historic inaugural ceremony of our first female president and Namibia’s fifth president. I wish all public servants a joyous Independence Day as we witness this historic change of guard,” the notice by Simataa reads.
