Economic Freedom Fighters registers November election candidates

The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) finally submitted its election candidates on Friday ahead of the 27 November polls.

“Finally, we have registered our presidential candidate Epafras Mukwilongo, and 96 members of parliament come 2025. Salute to the entire membership of the NEFF,” party spokesperson Annacky Amupanda said.

The party was successfully registered after a court battle with the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN).

The commission earlier this year deregistered the NEFF, accusing it of failing to publish its financial statements in time.

The legal battle has resulted in the party’s manifesto release and regional campaigns being delayed.

However, deputy leader Longinus Iipumbu has expressed optimism that the party would perform well in the elections.

The NEFF currently occupies two seats in the National Assembly.
