Education allocated N$24.8 billion

The Namibian government has allocated N$24.8 billion to the education, innovation, arts and culture sectors for the 2025/26 financial year, with a total of N$76.1 billion earmarked for these sectors over the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework.

Meanwhile, sport has been allocated N$1.3 billion, which includes N$200 million for the construction of category two stadiums, another N$200 million for basic sport infrastructure and N$50 million to support sport leagues across the country.

“The allocation also considered support for various youth programmes for skills development and capacity building,” said finance minister Erica Shafudah while tabling the budget in the National Assembly on Thursday.
