Esther Kakololo debuts with ‘Mounyuni’ visuals

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK … Esther Kakololo released her maiden single ‘Mounyuni’ complemented by a music video.

Esther Kakololo, Namibia’s youngest Afro-pop artist, has collaborated with the musician Drawer Locosound and released her debut track, ‘Mounyuni’, which translates to ‘in the world’.

The song and music video were uploaded on YouTube last week, where they have been drawing increasing attention.

The song was produced by ChakiBeatz, and the video was filmed by Mambas Mansion at different Windhoek sites, including the playground at UN Plaza, ABK Studio and Green Leaves Primary School.

The video’s plot revolves around a guardian (Drawer Locosound) encouraging and praising a young singer while instructing her to concentrate on her studies.

Drawer Locosound verbally advises her and also takes her to playgrounds for greater exposure and play to improve the family link, as a key strategy to change children’s progressive lives by watching the music video.

Ten-year-old Esther, who played the role of class captain, carried out her responsibilities admirably, forging a close relationship with the teacher in the process.

She chose to work with Drawer Lockosound on this song because she grew up listening to him and views him as an inspiration as well as one of the most talented superstars in the Namibian music industry, according to Esther’s manager Natty Kakololo, a professional boxer.

Natty says, “Esther also talks about how Drawer has brilliant lyrics and may ideally counsel the young to accomplish their best as the song’s goal.”
According to him, the two musicians’ recording sessions went smoothly because of Esther’s love for music.

The highly awaited by Esther’s debut album titled ‘Mounyuni’ is set to be published very soon.

Drawer Locosound, K Dio, Top Cheri, Dama Monique, Blank, Mabizela, Kangweson, Eba Queen and Ras Bozza are among the 11 artists who will appear on the album.

For her album release, which aims to lay the groundwork for her music career, people should expect enormous projects, says Natty.
