Ethnix’ Love Story Continues

PAIGE and Etjo, the members of Ethnix, together form a duo which is one of Namibia’s most unique.

The award-winning pair kicked this year off with a brand new single, titled ‘Ohole So Nice’.

The song is accompanied by a captivating video, and, according to Paige, this is a continuation of the storyline of their most recent two music videos, titled ‘Ponomate’ and ‘Composure’.

“We used the same video vixens, so you can clearly see the overlapping story in all three music videos, which is all about love,” Paige says.

He says working with Spectrum is always great. “It’s always awesome working with them. They are very easy-going and professional, and they know what they want and what they’re doing,” he says.

Paige, who is also the co-owner of popular hangout spot The Beat at Okuranyangava, says juggling a nine-to-five job as a graphic designer, and being a musician and student, can be hard for some people, but he embraces the hard work.

“I juggle a lot of stuff, and it’s not the easiest thing to do, but if one wants to be successful you have to put a 100% into whatever you’re doing,” he says.

Etjo also has her hands full being not only a full-time parent, but also having a full-time job. “I think because of the love and passion I have for the industry, it has not been that difficult to do it, but there are days it becomes hectic. We always manage to come through though,” she says.

Paige says the public can expect another Ethnix album with even better sounds. “You can expect nothing but beautiful music, and a great improvement on the last album. It’s a pretty good feeling,” he says.

Etjo says they still don’t have a name or a release date for the album, but the latest music video speaks for itself.

“We never disappoint. The previous album was more to prove to our fans and ourselves we can actually do this, but this time around we just want to have a little bit of fun, not diverting from what we are known for, but we’ll be a bit more diverse, feature way more people, and work with many other producers,” she says.
