Exit to launch latest album at NYE bash

POPULAR kwaito artist Exit is launching his latest album at a New Year’s bash that’s set to take place at Bennie’s Entertainment Park at Ongwediva on 31 December

The Life of Kunta Kinte’, which has been receiving great reviews from both media and his fans, will be launched alongside the latest line from his RockazWear clothing brand.

The countdown to the new year concert will feature a host of exciting performances from some of Namibia’s biggest musicians such as Female Donkey, Mushe, Sunny Boy, Bantu, Kapa Kamande, ML and Qondja, among others.

Exit features some of Namibia’s most prolific musicians on the album, from Sunny Boy to AJ Fresh who were all included because of their individual styles and lyrical prowess.

“None of the features were planned, but were rather included based on who brought the right energy to the album. Sunny Boy because of his lyricism, AJ Fresh because of his vibe and newer musicians who were included because their sound is fresh and different from what others are currently doing in Namibian music,” said Exit.

With this being his eighth studio project after 11 years in the music industry, Exit is proud that he has finally become a cultural icon who is revered by many. Starting out at the age of 19, the now 29-year-old has grown musically over the years and his fans have grown with him.

“I have become part of the culture now. When we set the trends, others follow,” he said while adding that he is aware of the responsibility that comes with being such a big cultural icon in Namibian music.

The event starts at 20h00. Tickets are available at Bennie’s Entertainment Park at Ongwediva, Antonio’s Art in Windhoek, Namibia Local Music Shop at Okalongo Kangandjera and Eewa 2 Pub at Outapi. Alternatively, call Simon Neonga at 081 155 2444 for more information.
