Failures must resign – Itula

Politician Panduleni Itula has compared Swapo to a vessel that has lost its value.

He called on the governing party to resign and allow people who can deliver services to the public to take charge.

Itula made these remarks when he launched his own political party called Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) in Windhoek today.

Itula said people have realised that although Swapo was once a formidable organisation that brought them independence, it’s not capable of looking after its people.

“What then has become of a hollow vessel! There are those who are still clinging on to the brand as if you are holding on to a Coca Cola bottle you enjoyed. But what you don’t realise is that there is no more Coca Cola inside . . . tombo.

“The values and principles we once stood for no longer exist . . . What do you then have to still continue holding on to that brand?” Itula asked.

He said he doesn’t see why the Swapo government was still in power after its president, Hage Geingob, admitted last week it has failed to deliver prosperity to the people.

Itula’s party unveiled its flag and symbol today. The election of its new leadership and adoption of its constitution will commence tomorrow.
