On Friday, a Namibian woman (69) was hit with a water jug on her right eye, causing an open wound, after a worker attempted to rape her, said police spokesperson Elifas Kuwinga in the weekend crime report.
It is alleged that the woman arrived at the farm and inquired about the whereabouts of her donkey, which resulted in the suspect becoming agitated by her questions and assaulting her.
“The victim managed to overpower him and run out for help, and the suspect fled the scene,” Kuwinga said.
The police launched an immediate search but the suspect could not be traced.
The woman sustained slight injuries and was treated at the local clinic.
Later that day at Nkurenkuru, a man raped a woman (19) in her room.
The suspect has not yet been arrested and police investigations continue, said Kuwinga.
At Rehoboth on Saturday, a man (29) allegedly raped a woman (51) in her home.
The victim was allegedly awoken in her house by someone raping her.
“When he was done, he dressed up and left, however, the suspect has been arrested and police investigations are ongoing,” said Kuwinga.
