Fifty-five pass football course

THE Namibia Football Association-DFB Youth Coaching Licence Course ended on Friday at Soccer House with 50 successful participants while 12 fell short of the desired results.

The two-week programme attracted 66 youth coaching aspirants before four pulled out midway through the course due to personal reasons.The course was conducted by NFA technical Director Klaus Staerk and German Football Federation Instructor Nicolai Adam. The duo took the participants through various topics on youth coaching such as profession of coaching, factors of performance in modern football and basic exercises to get used to the ball.The participants also learned about communication with players, planning and preparing training sessions and coaching points. Amongst the participants were legends Lemmy Narib, Crooks Nunuheb and Wagga Goagoseb, who were exited about the course outcome.He added that he also intends to help youngster from his Dolam location in Katutura.In his closing remarks Youth Development through Football (YDF) official Isack Hamata reminded participants of the importance of youth coaching before informing them that YDF will select three of the participants who will attend a training camp in South Africa to become trainers. The 12 participants who failed the course this time around will be given a second chance early next year before the NFA hosts a C-Licence youth coaching course in Namibia. – NFA Secretariat
