Final Enduro race at Farm Neu-Heusis

Forty seven riders took part in the eighth and final round of the 2014 Bank Windhoek Namibia National Enduro Series, which took place on Saturday, 18 October 2014, at Farm Neu-Heusis in the Windhoek district.

The event was co-sponsored by Alexander Forbes.

The riders lined up to take on the new track which consisted of single tracks, rocks and obstacles and some easier sections.

Approximately two thirds of the competitors managed to complete the race while some entrants suffered mechanical problems and others did not finish due to tough and demanding sections that where included on the track, which upset the less fit riders.

In the Class 1 battle, Claude Brendel took top honours to secure the championship. He was followed by Pascal Henle and Kai-Uwe Brettschneider in second and third places respectively.

In the Open National Class, Henner Rusch won the race and secured his championship, while Ingo Waldschmidt came second and Dirk Hohmeier third. Julia Moths won the Ladies Quad Class, followed by Maike Bochert and Shannon Rowland, while Dimo Eloff won the Quad Class followed by Gary Rowland.

Martin Diekmann took top honours in the Master Bike Class, with Frank Ahlriep coming second.

“With racing now done for the 2014 season, the riders can take a break and plan for next year. The Namibian Enduro Club would like to extend a big thank you to Bank Windhoek for their support throughout the year and also to the other event and support sponsors throughout the season,” said Gunter Brettschneider, the chairman of the Namibia Enduro Club.
