The third round of the fistball league will take place this coming weekend at SKW with a total of 25 teams in action.
The match day starts on Friday at 16h00 with the games in the u12 and u15 categories. Afterwards there will be two u18 matches to relieve the strain of fixtures on Saturday, when the matches kick off at 08h00.
At the last two tournaments, SKW B won in the u12 category, while SKW A emerged as the winner in the u15 category. With the home turf advantage, everything points to a similar result this time around.
The first encounters in the u18 youth category take place on Saturday morning, and with SFC A and the defending champions SKW A currently the joint log leaders with the same points and sets, some exciting battles are guaranteed.
With 66 unbeaten league games in a row, the reigning champions, CFC 1, are at the top of the National League A table with 24 points. The hosts, SKW are seven points behind the Light Blues and only one point ahead of a young SFC 1 team. After a sensational performance at the indoor tournament three weeks ago, it remains to be seen how the team from Swakopmund will perform on the field without their main attacker Torben Winterbach.
SKW 4 are leading the National League B with 23 points. The current season is shaping up to be a wild roller-coaster, so the battle to make the playoffs in September is still wide open. SKW 5 are lying second, four points behind SKW 4 and followed by SFC 3 and CFC 3 with the same points.
On Sunday, the women’s national team and the extended male u18 national squad will complete another training session in preparation for the upcoming World Championships in South America. The thirteen-man youth squad will be reduced to ten on Saturday.
