Five people killed in weekend accidents

TRAGEDY struck the Philander family in the South on Saturday when a road accident claimed the three lives of three people and injured four others.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer James Matengu said 42-year-old Sofia Philander and Immanuel Philander (2) died together with Katrina Rachel (20) when the tyre of a vehicle they were travelling in burst 60 km outside Aroab and overturned.
