PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has joined Namibians in wishing a happy birthday to former first lady Kovambo Nujoma, who turned 90 years of age on Friday.

In his birthday message, Geingob said Nujoma provided distinguished service to the Namibian people, going beyond the call of duty.

“As a mother, she nurtured many and demonstrated high values of loyalty and patriotism until the flag of freedom was hoisted on 21 March 1990,” Geingob said.

Geingob also said Namibia celebrates and treasures Nujoma’s service in the interest of the Namibian people.
“We appreciate her valuable guidance and motherly contributions to the Nujoma family and towards a united and prosperous Namibia,” Geingob stated.

“On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Namibia, I extend to madam Kovambo Nujoma many happy returns and continued good health,” he said.
