PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has conferred an official funeral to former Oshana governor Silvanus Vatuva.
Executive director in the ministry of information Mbeuta ua-Ndjarakana announced in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
Vatuva (87), died on 1 September at a hospital in Ongwediva.
His memorial service will take pace on 18 September at his Omhalaxwaxwa residence, Omungwelume village in the Ohangwena region. The burial service is on 19 September.
Vatuva was appointed commissioner for the northern regions that later became the Oshikoto, Ohangwena, Oshana and Omusati regions.
He served as Oshana governor from 1992 to 1998. He also served as Oshakati East constituency councillor until 2004.
