Zambezi regional police are investigating four separate rape cases reported over the weekend.
Regional police spokesperson inspector Kisco Sitali says the victims include three minors and a Zambian woman (43).
At Linyanti between September 2024 and October 2024, a Zambian man (50) allegedly raped two minor girls, aged seven and 11, on different occasions, says Sitali.
“The suspect was arrested and police investigations continue.”
Another two men, aged 39 and 21, were arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a minor at a primary school, and another man (24) was arrested for allegedly raping a Zambian woman at the Mahohoma compound on Saturday.
“It’s alleged that the suspect broke into the woman’s house and raped her at around 22h00. Police investigations in both cases continue,” Sitali adds.
