Four regional first division netball teams have been promoted to the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League next season, following promotional play-off matches at the United courts over the weekend.

Two Unam teams – Unam Jaguars from Windhoek and Unam Ogongo from the Omusati region have qualified for the premier league along with Tsumeb Netball Club and Eastern Chiefs Netball Club from Kavango East.

In play-off matches on Saturday, Eastern Chiefs remained unbeaten after winning both their matches against Unam Jaguars 20-18, and Blue Waters 22-15.

Tsumeb NC also won both their matches against Okahandja NC (18-13) and Harambee NC (19-18), while Unam Ogongo also remained unbeaten, after winning 17-14 against Harambee NC, and 15-0 against United 12.

In other matches, Blue Waters NC beat Extreme NC 19-17; Okahandja NC beat United 12 NC 15-0; and Extreme NC beat Ministry of Safety and Security 21-15.

Unam Jaguars, Unam Ogongo, Eastern Chiefs and Tsumeb NC will now play in the 2024 MTC Namibia Netball Premier League which is due to start in March next year.

They will replace the four bottom teams of the 2023 league, namely Eleven Arrows NC, Northern Fly Ballers NC, Rebels NC and Fatou NC who have all been relegated to regional first divisions.

Namibia Correctional Services won the MTC Namibia Premier League title for the second time in three years two months ago after finishing on top of the log on 40 points, followed by Namibian Navy on 36 points and 2022 champions Mighty Gunners on 34 points.
