NAMIBIAN music sensation Gazza pulled off a spectacular show on Saturday, pulling a large crowd who joined him to celebrate hitting one million views on YouTube for his hit song ‘Chelete’.
Starting off early in the day with food stalls, drinks and fun activities, organisers made many right decisions, such as having the capable Che Ulenga and NSK as main hosts while KFC DJs, DJ Asserdeep,DJ Kalypso and others entertained the crowd throughout the day.
The musical performances began with Chikune, Princelou Faragama, Slime, MIG from Rundu and Matongo Family – who made an exciting comeback. As the night carried on, more performers lit up the stage. Some of the highlights were Lioness with her vibrant and contagious energy, Oteya and Teqla, who always bring the old-school flair, as well as King Tee Dee whose set was a combination of old favorites and new hits.
The international acts Emtee, B-Red and Professor also all came through with their foreign vibe to make the experience unique. The absolute peak of the evening, was when Gazza went onto the stage in a Mercedes-Benz for his first set. Dressed in an all black outfit with a balaclava over his face, the man of the moment oozed confidence as he faced the ravenous crowd.
His set featured three outfits, two faithful dancers, driving onto stage a second time in a BMW, a full live band and fireworks. Gazza also shared a few heartfelt moments with his old friend King Tee Dee, reminiscing on the past and hugging it out to the excited cheers from the crowd. The kwaito star truly gave the crowd thei money’s worth, singing and dancing so expertly, it’s easy to forget he’s over 40.
