Former first lady Monica Geingos has called on young Africans to take charge of their future through education.
Speaking at her inauguration as the founding chancellor of Kepler College in Kigali, Rwanda on Wednesday, Geingos said the continent needs bold and ethical leaders who are ready to fix what is broken.
“Education is the most powerful weapon we can wield to reshape our future, the future isn’t coming – it is already here, and it demands a new kind of African leader,” Geingos said.
She highlighted Rwanda’s journey from hardship to success as an example of how education and strong leadership can transform a nation. She stressed that Africans must control their own narratives and not rely on others to define them.
