GIPF needs local co-operation

GIPF needs local co-operation

RUNDU – The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) General Manager for Benefits Administration, Milka Mungunda, says it is very important for community leaders and political leaders to work closer with GIPF offices.

Mungunda made the remarks during a GIPF breakfast information meeting with members of Parliament as well as members of the Fund, including personnel officers in the Kavango Region. She said co-operation with local leaders would help the GIPF to iron out some of the problems that result in delays in paying out benefits. She explained that the GIPF sometimes experienced problems with obtaining the right information, saying that it would be very easy to get the right information if the local leaders worked hand-in-hand with the Fund’s offices.Apart from administering the pension benefits of public servants, Mungunda said the GIPF was also playing a crucial role as a responsible corporate citizen through funding small business projects. The funding is aimed at encouraging communities to set up small projects to uplift the living standards of the Namibian people.- NampaShe said co-operation with local leaders would help the GIPF to iron out some of the problems that result in delays in paying out benefits. The funding is aimed at encouraging communities to set up small projects to uplift the living standards of the Namibian people.- Nampa
