GIPF to kick off stakeholders’ engagements

THE Government Institutions Pension Fund is on a massive stakeholders’ engagement programme this year.

“The GIPF regards stakeholders’ engagement as a key aspect of its business strategy. We are therefore very pleased to announce and inform all our members and the general public about our upcoming activities and engagements”, said Amos Kambonde, the fund’s marketing services manager.

“It is our duty to make sure that our members and the general public are informed and well educated about our roles and responsibilities as a fund. As such, the GIPF is ensuring that all our members are aware of the upcoming events,” he added.

To start off, in the month of April, the GIPF will be at the Lüderitz Crayfish Festival, as well as the Ondangwa Business and Tourism Expo from 28 April to 6 May, respectively.

Apart from the two shows, the GIPF will also be at the Workers’ Day celebrations on 1 May at Eenhana, where the Namibian workers will be celebrating their day under the theme “Valuing Workers’ Rights Through Decent Work for Economic Empowerment”. Apart from this event, we will also be at the Namibian Police championships at Swakopmund, starting on 1 May until 6 May.

“It is with great pleasure that we invite all our members to make use of these member information sessions. We wish to emphasise that it is our members’ sole responsibility to make sure that they visit our stands at the upcoming events, and find out about their membership status,” Kambonde said.

He added that the GIPF has many other platforms of engagement and information-sharing, such as member education sessions, and the use of new technology such as the fund’s social pages.

“We further wish to remind our members and beneficiaries that it is important to understand the rules of the fund and how they are applied. We therefore encourage all GIPF members to visit our offices countrywide, and be briefed on their rights and responsibilities, and to find out what benefits they are entitled to. Members seeking specific updates related to their benefits are encouraged to bring their identity documents, as well as their latest payslips,” he said.

The GIPF will be having a roadshow at Tsumeb, Omuthiya, Outapi, Ruacana and Opuwo.
