Girls & Goals moved up to second position on the FNB Women’s Super League log after collecting maximum points at the coast over the weekend.

Tura Magic, who were not in action, however, still hold an eight-point lead and are hot favourites to retain their title.

On Saturday Girls & Goals took on Arrows Ladies at the Mondesa Stadium, where they were made to work hard for a 2-1 win, with Veronica van Wyk and Beyonce Cloete scoring their goals.

On Sunday they completed a full haul of points with a 2-0 win against Namib Daughters, with Beverly Uueziua scoring both their goals.

The two victories put Girls & Goals second on the log on 57 points, and with three matches remaining in their campaign, they still have a remote chance of catching Magic, who only need a point from their remaining two matches to win the title.

Beauties moved up to third place on 56 points after two impressive victories against Nust Babes and V Power Angels at the NFA Centre in Windhoek.

Fiola Vliete was once again their star player, scoring 10 goals to take her total 55, which, if confirmed by the NFA, will see her equalling Anna Shikusho’s record of 55 goals in a season.

On Saturday they beat Nust 6-0 with Vliete scoring five goals and Nicole Philander one, while they beat V Power Angels 6-1 the next day with Vliete once again scoring five and Tjituka Kamunikire one goal. Beauties, however, only have one match remaining and at best can only pip Girls & Goals to second spot.

Unam Bokkies also collected maximum points to move up to fourth position on 53 points.

They beat Ramblers 3-1 last Thursday and on Sunday beat Ongwediva Queens by the same score, with Muhinatjo Hanavi scoring a brace and Meltret Ujamba one goal for Unam, while Hilma Haitamba scored for the Queens.

In other matches on Saturday, Okahandja FC and V Power Angels played to a goalless draw at the Nau-Aib Stadium in Okahandja, while Namib Daughters beat Ramblers 2-0.

In matches on Sunday, Arrows Ladies beat Khomas Nampol 3-2, and Okahandja FC beat Nust Babes 3-2.
