The government, through the education ministry, has again shown there’s little care about improving a culture of high productivity when they urged schools to close in preparation for the inauguration of president-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
Half of January was a write-off as has become usual following year-end holidays.
Then Namibians found more reason to be lazy, following the death of liberation icon Sam Nujoma in the second week of February.
Schools were also told to close or release pupils early.
Expect Easter to see more working hours go to waste.

In May will have only two full weeks of normal workdays with the last week, in theory, having two out of three.
Work culture in Namibia needs to be adjusted.
