The labour ministry announced on Friday that the National Integrated Employment Information System (NIEIS) is currently down for repairs.
“In response to the current technical challenges faced by NIEIS, the ministry is diligently engaged in enhancing the system’s operational capabilities,” noted the ministry.
The ministry said it would not penalise any employers who miss system requirements during this time.
“In consideration of these circumstances, no punitive measures will be taken against designated employers for non-reporting until NIEIS is fully restored.”
The NIEIS portal, developed in 2010, has been a centralised platform for job-seekers and potential employers to connect.
The labour ministry has implemented these repairs to prevent future system down time.
