A 22-year-old male pupil of a school at Otjiwarongo was arrested on Friday on a charge of possessing or dealing in drugs, after he was allegedly caught with three parcels of cannabis.
“The Grade 11 pupil was arrested in a police action at a house where he resides in Orwetoveni,” said the Namibian Police’s head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa region, senior inspector Maureen Mbeha.
Mbeha told Nampa on Saturday that the three parcels, weighing about 756 grams, have an estimated street value of N$37 800.
The suspect will make a first court appearance in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Mbeha said.
