Healthcare scholarship launched

Doctor Esperance Luvindao

Namibian medical doctor Esperance Luvindao has announced the launch of the Doctor Esperance Luvindao Healthcare Scholarship Award.

The launch, in partnership with Osaat Africa Health Foundation, aims to support aspiring healthcare students in Namibia by providing financial assistance to those in need.

Luvindao said this in a statement send to The Namibian on Saturday.

She expressed her enthusiasm about being able to give back to the community and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

“The Doctor Esperance Luvindao Healthcare Scholarship Award has partnered with Osaat Africa Health Foundation, an organisation founded in 2019, committed to ensuring quality healthcare for all, irrespective of socioeconomic status.

“The foundation focuses on educating women about women’s health in their native languages, educating young women and girls through an animation series for better information retention, copper IUD clinics and advancing digital health for lower socioeconomic groups,” she said.

Luvindao said interested candidates must apply for the scholarship, adding that the scholarship will cover full tuition and a few academic related expenses for students.

Luvindao was honoured by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth in 2022 with a Commonwealth Points of Light award for delivering free online consultations to more than 44 000 patients from Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria and Rwanda since 2019.
