High school teacher electrocuted during Nkurenkuru workshop at guest house

A teacher from Elia Neromba Secondary School in the Kavango East region died in the bathroom of a guest house while attending a workshop on Wednesday.

Maria Katega (40) died at Siruwo Guest House at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West region.

Chief regional inspector Raimbeth Muronga has confirmed the incident.

“It is alleged that the deceased was killed by electric shock in the bathroom while attempting to take a bath during her stay at the guest house,” he says.

Muronga says Katega’s body has been transported to the Nkurenkuru police mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of her death.

He says the matter will be investigated.
