HOPING FOR CHANGE…

Mirjim Kandjungu (42) from Windhoek’s Ongulumbashe settlement says she will be voting in next month’s elections. She hopes this would bring improved access to basic services, like electricity for all. The mother of seven, who has been unemployed for the past three years, says she survives by selling firewood and kapana. The Namibian recently noticed Kandjungu along the Hereford Road near Brakwater, resting on her way home after collecting firewood with her one-year-old son on her back. She said she collects wood twice a week and walks about 5km at a time. Photo: Charlotte Nambadja
