I Don’t Have Time to do Music – Monique English

One of the country’s most soulful singers and multi-award winning musician Monique English has been relatively missing in action for the last couple of years.

She told unWrap.online recently that she has not been up to anything musically, besides doing an occasional song cover for herself.

“I didn’t decide to take a music break, it just happened by itself. I decided to do my own thing and I also started working. I had to adapt to the new environment and there is just no time to do music,” she said.

English attributes her hiatus from music to wanting a stable life and focusing her energy on growing up.

“I am growing up and I’m trying to get myself to a point in my life where I’m stable. Having a passion for music is just that, having passion. At least for me, I love music, but I won’t do it professionally for a while, maybe only for my core fans or people who really support and love my music. That’s what matters to me. I’ll maybe get back to releasing more albums at a later stage when I’m settled,” she added.

Her last release was when Piano Kingz featured her on the song ‘Moving on’, but she says she wanted to help them out and she had nothing to do with the production of the Extended Play.

She said she is not working on anything, like releasing an album. “I’ll probably release a single for now,” she said.
