BEATA Siteketa, also known as the socialite Betty Davids, is bent on finding justice for herself over alleged defamatory remarks made by Independent Patriots for Change spokesperson Imms Nashinge, and has registered a charge of crimen injuria with the Namibian Police.
Police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi told unwrap.online this morning that Nashinge has to appear in court next week.
“He has not paid a fine. He was given a warning and will appear in court on Tuesday,” said Shikwambi.
Nashinge declined to confirm or deny that he has received a notice to appear in court.
“Aahh sorry, I’m not interested, bye,” he said before hanging up the phone.
This follows on the filing of a High Court case in which Siteketa is suing Nashinge for N$400 000, a retraction and an apology on Thursday. Siteketa is alleging that Nashinge called her a prostitute in remarks made to a WhatsApp group on Wednesday.
She told reporters this morning that his assertion that she is a “prostitute” has made her angry.
Siteketa, who says she has degrees in accounting, logistics, law and business administration, said the fight will not end here, but continue to the High court.
It is not clear at this point whether Nashinge will oppose the matter or retract and apologise unconditionally.
