The president of the National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo), Esther Muinjangue, says while she won’t be standing for re-election as party president, she will remain a loyal member of the party.
Muinjangue during a press conference on Wednesday confirmed that she will step down as party president at Nudo’s upcoming elective congress scheduled for 12 to 14 July.
“I have indicated that come our elective congress, I will step down. I will not stand for election as president. I am not greedy . . . to want to remain in positions forever. It is a chance to give others the opportunity to come and lead the party,” she said.
She put an end to speculation that she may be leaving the party.
“I will remain a committed, loyal member of the Nudo party. I am proud to be a Nudo member,” Muinjangue said.
The party’s executive committee has agreed that aspiring Nudo presidential candidates would be nominated and endorsed from the floor.
