Improving ICT at Martti Ahtisaari Primary School

The governor of Khomas Laura McLeod-Katjirua yesterday donated 20 computers and 40 chairs to the Martti Ahtisaari Primary School in Wanaheda,Windhoek.

The donation was made possible with help from the Namibia San Development Organisation (NASDO), a community initiative which aims to enhance living conditions for community members across the country.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, McLeod-Katjirua said when she last visited the school, she promised to donate computers to it.

“When I visited your school last year, I promised you that when I come again I will bring computers for you. Today I am here to hand over those computers,” she said.

McLeod-Katjirua advised teachers and the 1 560 pupils at the school not take the donation for granted and to take special care of the computers .

“You have to take care of the computers because we might not come back with computers again,” she stressed. “It is up to you to decide how you will care for them and how you will share them with others.”

The Martti Ahtisaari Primary school principal Hermanus Böck expressed his gratitude to the governor and NASDO director Jersey Katjimune for their generosity. He said the school appreciates what the governor has done to enhance computer literacy at the school.
