Indombo appointed labour executive director

Lydia Indombo

Prime minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has appointed Lydia Indombo, the deputy executive director in the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, as the new executive director.

Her appointment was announced by Cabinet secretary George Simataa on Wednesday.

In a media statement, Simataa said Indombo’s appointment is effective from 1 October 2023 for a fixed-term contract of five years.

She will replace Otniel Podewiltz.

Indombo was appointed on recommendation of the Public Service Commission, Simataa said.

Prior to her current position, Indombo served as a director for general services, research and information services from 2014 until 2020 at the National Council, Simataa said.

Indombo has a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a masters in human resource planning and development.
