Minister of information and communication technology (MICT) Peya Mushelanga is currently on a three-day working trip to Botswana.

The trip, which started on Monday, will end on Wednesday.

As part of the trip, the minister visited Botswana’s public media houses.

MICT executive director Audrin Mathe in a short statement said Namibia and Botswana have maintained strong and positive bilateral relations, and the visit is expected to further reinforce their partnership.

“The focus will be on enhancing collaboration in various areas, including information systems, communication services, telecommunications, and harmonising data roaming charges within the region.

This effort aligns with the minister’s bilateral decision to facilitate seamless communication across the region,” he said.

The delegation accompanying the minister will include the executive director of MICT, senior government officials, and chief executive officers of the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation, New Era Publication Corporation, the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia, and the executive secretary of the Namibia Film Commission.
