Jomolizo comes back strong with ‘Epata Lange’

FOLLOWING the success of his previous album ‘Kaandjetu’, Jomolizo has once again released a good body of work in the form of his latest musical project, ‘Epata Lange’.

Teaming up with the sought after Mr. Glo, Jomolizo sticks to his sound – a blend of traditional sounds, soukous and a whole concoction of Afro-beats.

He features the sultry voiced Tekla on track two which is titled, ‘Oufila Watika’, while Shitana is featured on track four. The entire album tells a beautiful story of everything that may go wrong, or right within the confines of a traditional homestead. Jomolizo takes on everything from broken households, culture and the values that hold African families together. The album art also sticks to the central theme with images of a traditional homestead on the cover.

Sticking to a sound that’s proudly Namibian, ‘Epata Lange’ makes for a great follow up to an album that was very well received.

On track five, Jomolizo has a strong Zambian flavour and the song, titled ‘Darling’ features Bantu. It’s a beautiful love song that will have you yearning for that Namibian love story.

On ‘My Time To Shine’, Jomolizo sings about his arrival in the music industry and what has brought him this far. He talks about his rural upbringing and everything he’s had to overcome to get where he is today. The song is inspiring and enlightening to the plight that many young people from rural communities are faced with.

For all the ladies who ever took him for a granted, track eight may, or may not be about you. ‘I Know’ is a sound warning for those who take advantage of their significant others.

Track 10, ‘La David’ is a gospel track with a house beat featuring vocals by Tekla once again.

‘Epata Lange’ features two bonus tracks for your added musical pleasure with the popular ‘Kaandjetu’ being one of the songs.

All in all, this a well compiled musical project and Jomolizo has once again proven why he’s become a popular artist, making music people can relate to. All songs on the album were produced by MR Glo and Jomolizo, while track three was produced by Araffath.

The album was officially dropped last week and is available for sale at amongst other outlets; Antonio’s Art outlets, Elenga Music shop, Ehafo Service Station at Omafo as well as 777 Bar at Ohangwena.
