Kandjii-Murangi threatens to sue Amupanda

Itah Kandjii-Murangi and Job Amupanda

Higher education minister Itah Kandjii-Murangi has threatened to sue Affirmative Repositioning movement leader Job Amupanda for alleged defamation of character.

Kandjii-Murangi made the threats on Monday in a letter written to Amupanda, through her lawyer Clive Kavendjii of Kangueehi & Kavendjii Incorporated.

Amupanda accused Kandjii-Murangi of financial misconduct involving travel expenses amounting to N$1,5 million in claims he made in a series of social media posts last week.

The lawyer said Amupanda portrayed the minister as unscrupulous and corrupt, claiming she enriched herself at the expense of taxpayers by failing to meet her financial obligations to the Development Bank of Namibia and by receiving money from various institutions of higher learning without just cause.

The letter also said through the posts Amupanda intended to make the readers the readers understand that Kandjii-Murangi is a corrupt person with low morals, a selfish person who only considers her own interests above the citizens’ interests. Read more in our next edition
