Keetmanshoop invests N$6.9 million in grader, excavator to boost service delivery

The Keetmanshoop Municipality has acquired a grader and excavator valued at N$6.9 million to enhance service delivery at the town.

This was funded through municipal rates and taxes.

Keetmanshoop mayor Annelize Knaus says by investing in infrastructure the municipality is laying the foundation for economic growth, attracting investors, and creating opportunities for residents.

“The arrival of these machines is a testament to our council’s dedication to service delivery and sustainable development. It reflects our resolve to equip our workforce with the necessary tools to execute their duties effectively,” she says.

Knaus says the “yellow fleet” represents growth, resilience, and the municipality’s promise to the community to deliver services.

She says the new grader will enhance road networks, ensuring that streets remain smooth, accessible, and safe for all.

“The excavator will play a crucial role in various development projects, from main sewer lines, bulk water lines and electrical improvements to construction initiatives that will uplift the standard of living in our community,” she says.
