Khorixas residents’ association on cards

RESIDENTS of Khorixas are planning to register an association to take part in elections slated for November.

According to one of the organisers former Miss Khorixas, Adele Somaes, the proposed Khorixas Residents Association (Kresida) will be a platform for everyone.

“We plan to register a society where every citizen participates and takes ownership of the policy and decision-making process in their town,” Somaes said on Saturday.

She said their main objective is for the association grow with the support and involvement of residents.

“We will be involved in activities that benefit our peoples’ health and social wellbeing.

Independent candidate for Khorixas constituency, McKay Losper, who will work with Kresida said they will revisit any failed projects to in the hope to revive them.

Recently Losper and Somaes handed over food items to residents at Donkerhoek informal settlement at the town.

Kresida membership is for anyone 18 years and above irrespective of their political affiliation.
