Killa-B back with music, plans album tour, novel

Killa-B

PERFORMER and songwriter Kiljon Ngweda, better known as Killa-B, has finally made a comeback after years out of the spotlight.

This week he is making a comeback with a brand-new song titled ‘Omalenga’, which means “leaders”.

According to Killa-B, the song honours the elders and leaders in the community who should set a positive example for all Africans by leading by example.

“Let’s all feel responsible as leaders and let’s be proud of our culture and heritage,” says Killa-B.

The song, produced by DJ Vuyo and Epuka, who feature in it, will have its radio debut this week. It will also be released on social media and online music services.

Killa-B says the three of them were all involved in the production of the song from composition.

He says the song brings back memories of his previous big songs, like ‘Eliko’ and ‘Kuzanale’.

Killa-B says the song’s music video, which will be filmed in various cities, will be released right after the single.

“The storyline behind the video tells of the journey of two brave and handsome but naughty young leaders from the village to the city, and back to the village as heroes, and wherever they go they steal the hearts of the people,” says Killa-B.

‘Omalenga’ is the lead single off his eagerly anticipated ninth album, ‘Heart of a Lion’, which he had intended to release two years ago, before hitting some snags.

Killa-B says this is just a preview of what to expect on the album and a gift to his fans for waiting so long.

He says the blending of new musical genres and styles found on his new album, including amapiano, electronic dance, shaku-shaku, hip-hop and township vibes, will give it a uniquely Namibian sound.

“Finding the best producers who understand my approach required me to move around between the north and Windhoek, which added time to the recording process. Though expensive, it was worthwhile,” says Killa-B.

Killa-B says he named his future album ‘Heart of a Lion’ in honour of his family clan, the lion clan (Aakwananime),

His journey over the past few years will also be documented in music videos and films that will be made available to fans on social media very soon.

According to Killa-B, his upcoming album will also be released internationally and will be accompanied by a country tour.

“My current location is halfway between the north and Grootfontein. Along with wrapping up the album’s recording sessions, I’m also busy starting my own printing company,” he says.

He is actively promoting the album singles and fans can hear his new songs at live performances across the nation, he says.

“I’m doing everything I can for the globe, Africa and my nation. I’ll be accepting a booking to visit a city close to my followers.”

Killa-B intends to film music videos for most of the tracks on the album and is inviting talented dancers to contact him via his social media accounts.
