Killa B stings with new video

KILLA B has done it again! The Namibian music veteran is set to drop a new killer music video, scheduled for release tomorrow, at the Theatre School.

Killer B said that he is excited about this project for various reasons, including the fact that 'Wambu-Bantu' will be his first video available on Youtube.

According to Killa B, the video, produced by regionally well-known director Mayo Neto, tells the tale of African dance in a modern world, promoting Africanism amongst the youth.

“The storyline is basically about portraying African dance in a modern Africa and also promoting the youth, that we are capable of being great and that we do not need to adopt western ways to be recognised,” the seasoned artist said.

The video, which is set against a dark background, screams quality and sophistication, giving the phrase 'less is best', a whole new meaning.

The 'Okinikini' singer said he strategically chose the characters in the video to go with the message he wants to send through the video, which is motivating the youth to be great and telling the youth that they are the new age of the creative world.

“I used models, actors and actresses as well as dancers such as Tulimelila Shityuwete to just show how young people are the new generation of the creative world,” he said.

The lyrics are a brew of various indigenous African languages and according to Killa B, he was inspired by different African chants when he wrote the song.

“This is a chant song, chanting Africanism and since dancehall is the only music that still chants and I do dancehall, it only made sense for me to do the song,” he said.

Although Killa-B seemed to be missing from the music scene, he said his fans and music lovers can rest assured that he has been hard at work with foreign directors.

Tickets cost N$30 and are available from Killa B's promoter at 0818154694 or at the door.
