King Tee Dee delivers on ‘Natu Kulukute’

King Tee Dee

AWARD-WINNING artist King Tee Dee, previously known as ‘The Dogg’, recently dropped a single titled ‘Natu Kulukute’, featuring Page Ethnix.

King Tee Dee says the new song is just the tip of the iceberg, as he plans on releasing more music after a seven-year break.

“There are a lot of new songs lined up. I will be shooting the video for a song titled ‘Jealousy’ soon. People should expect more coming from me – more shows and more music” he says.

He says ‘Natu Kulukute’ is about dancing or moving.

The music video, which was shot by Spectrum Media and directed by Mepani M productions, garnered great support from industry staples such as DJ Kboz, DJ Vuyo, KP Illest and Skrypt.

The musicians can be seen dancing together in the video.

With no plans of recording a song, King Tee Dee says he was driving from Otjiwarongo when a beat he never got to listen to popped up on his playlist and grabbed his attention.

“The beat was made by DJ Donna. He would sent me beats, but I just never listened to them because I was not really doing music.

“But that day it played, and I stopped the car to call DJ Vuyo, who was following me, to listen to it,” King Tee Dee says.

When he got to Windhoek, he says he had to stop by the studio to immediately record the song.

“I called Page, and he recorded his verse first. I couldn’t record because I was tired, and recorded my verse on another day,” he says.

King Tee Dee says ‘Natu Kulukute’ reached more than 20 000 views in less than 24 hours.

“The song was really received well. I am happy with the reception. Radio stations are playing the song, while people are also playing it in their cars or taxis,” he says.

He says spending hours on set was the most exciting experience ever.

Although the artist has not released any projects of his own for the past seven years, he has been quite active on the music scene.

He has been performing at different towns as part of the ‘Smart Cut’ campaign, an initiative under the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Last year, King Tee Dee was announced as the brand ambassador for Haval Jolion, the latest urban SUV from the Chinese automotive manufacturer.
