Koxa Takes Centre Stage With New Single

Koxa

‘Manga Etango Inalitoka’ marks the latest release and music video by kwaito artist Koxa after years of collaborations.

The single was released in November after the artist had not been in the studio for a long time.

Koxa, real name Kondjeni Ndiweda, has unveiled his first solo single, which means ‘before sunset’.

The artist was previously part of the duo 2ko and Koxa.

“If you have been listening to my songs, you will notice there is always a message behind them, which is to inspire.

“’Manga Etango Inalitoka’ serves as a reminder to take action early, before it’s too late. So, every morning when you wake up, make sure you secure your dollar before sunset,” Koxa says.

He says he is happy to give Namibians that which has been missing from the local music industry.

“People often focus on the same things, that’s why I decided to introduce something different,” he says.

The video for the song was shot by Spectrum Media at Afrique Studios and created in collaboration with stylist Katti Cotton Eater.

He says Stuttafords Namibia also played a big role in the video’s production, for which he is grateful.

Koxa says he is currently working on a project, which will be announced in due course.

He emphasises the importance of distinguishing between the music industry and the entertainment industry.

“One thing hindering the growth of Namibian artists is that once people gain a bit of fame, they stop being humble . . . We need each other to work together,” he urges.

Despite a brief pause, Koxa says he will consistently deliver.

“I am a father now, managing businesses, but I promise good music is on the way,” he says.

The ‘Manga Etango Inalitoka’ video has garnered over 20 000 views on YouTube.
