Kuisebmond win Classic Clashes encounter

KUISEBMOND Secondary School beat rivals S.I. Gobs Secondary School on a penalty shootout to win their FNB Classic Clashes match in Omaruru last weekend.

After the teams were tied 1-1 at full time the match went into penalties and Kuisebmond emerged victorious with a 5-4 victory.

During normal play, Festus Tjiyowola of the hosts S.I. Gobs put his team ahead just before half-time, but Johannes Hamakali equalised for Kuisebmond Secondary School midway through the second half.

The attendance was superb and the crowd was kept on their feet throughout the match, while the dance group Hosala’s Finest entertained the spectators after the match.

The man of the match, Katjiuamukuao Tjitunga of Kuisebmond Senior Secondary School said:

“Today we performed very well, and our defenders were good, they did a great job. Thank you everyone for making this great game possible.”

Salome Tsaitsaib, the head girl of S.I. Gobs was chosen as the Aquasplash Hero.

The last soccer matches of the 2018 FNB Classic Clashes season will take place this weekend in the North when Ongha faces Nehale Secondary School and Okatana take on Haudano Secondary School in Ongha and Okatana respectively.
