The Law Society of Namibia and the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund (LPFF) on Thursday morning announced six bursary recipients for the 2024 academic year.

Ten candidates were initially considered but only six met the necessary criteria.

The announcement was made in Windhoek by Taimi Iileka-Amupanda, on behalf of the LPFF chairperson Nolan Swarts.

“Each student will receive N$22 000 for their tuition fees. Among the six, two are continuing students from the 2023 recipients, while four are new students,” Iileka-Amupanda said.

She encouraged the students to study hard, noting that their hard work earned them the bursary and that they must maintain their dedication to remain eligible.

“Continue reading and informing yourself because that enables you to stand out and get opportunities like this bursary,” she added. The recipients for the 2024 academic year are: Johanna Endjala, Regina Songara, Ndeshimona Kuzatjike, Peneyambeko Tutaleni, Tracy Salufu and Mire Mweendeleli.

Iileka-Amupanda implored the students to uphold integrity and maintain a good reputation in society, so they can earn the trust of the people.
Additionally, she highlighted the issue of Artificial Intelligence and encouraged the students to be honest and use it wisely.
