The Mercedes-Maybach S680’s size alone will leave you breathless.

M+Z Mercedes recently sold and delivered their first S680 Maybach and allowed Top Revs to experience style, luxury and comfort on wheels.

M+Z Mercedes expert Brandon Strauss says the seats can be personalised, complete with a massage function.

For extra comfort, hand-stitched scatter cushions are standard.

The car comes with a champagne fridge and Maybach-branded champagne glasses for extra luxury and style.

Strauss says the car is aimed at chief executives and other company executives.

The stow-away tables remind one of a first-class aircraft experience.

The Burmester sound system can be customised to your needs, and the high-end 4-D surround sound system will add the price of a small car to the Maybach’s cost.

This is the first S680 V12 (in Namibia ) with a 900Nm torque (450kW).

“This is a bullet of a car to be honest … an elegant vehicle,” Strauss says.

For a vehicle weighing in at almost three tonnes, the performance speaks volumes, as the car has a top speed of 250km/h.

If you want to impress fellow road users even more, it can reach 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

With such a powerful engine under the hood, first thoughts are a thirsty car that needs a pit stop at every fuel station, but the vehicle is surprisingly more fuel efficient than most 4×4 vehicles with a much smaller engine.

Strauss says the moment you open the car’s rear door, it’s all about class – from the seats, the sun blinds and the seamless door handles you do not have to touch as they remotely open and close by themselves.

The S680 was first introduced to South Africa in June 2022, and has now hit Namibia.

Safety features range from front and rear airbags and curtains in case of an incident.

The car has 11 airbags in total.

Other random safety features are ABS, EBD, traction control and stability control.

The active distance assist allows the control of slower vehicles in front and automatically reduces the speed of the car, avoiding rear-end collisions.

The 3D driver display assists the driver to be aware of his surroundings, and the MBUX augmented reality head-up display assists the driver with the transparent projections on the windscreen with all the relevant information about his current driving conditions.

The active parking assist makes parking easy with a push of a button.

The Maybach allows any potential customer to custom-spec the car to ensure unique features.
