Local gem for Monica, Hage engagement

PRIME Minister Hage Geingob yesterday publicly acknowledged his relationship with businesswoman Monica Kalondo for the first time.

This came during a question and answer session after Geingob met executives of the diamond industry. Asked whether he will buy a diamond for his engagement to Kalondo, Geingob said ”this can be arranged”. Namdeb CEO Inge Zaamwani then quipped in saying that ‘we can make sure it’s a Namibian diamond.’ Last week, Kalondo confirmed her relationship with Geingob who is also Swapo presidential candidate for elections scheduled for this year. “We are in a relationship, but I am reluctant to talk about it because it is a private matter,” she told The Namibian Sun last week.
