A male nurse from the Ohangwena region is set to appear in the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault, rape and bribery.
The suspect (49), who is said to be a nurse at a village clinic, allegedly lured a 23-year-old man to his residence at the nurses flats.
He threatened to hurt the victim with a knife if he tried to flee and if he did not agree to do whatever he asked of him.
“The following day, the suspect called his victim back to his house where he offered him N$2 000 to not report the incident to the police or anyone,” says Ohangwena region police commander commissioner Otillie Kashuupulwa.
The matter was, however, reported to the police which led to the arrest of the suspect.
