Man loses control over vehicle, dies on B1 road at Okahandja

A man (32) died instantly on Monday morning after he allegedly lost control over the vehicle he was driving and it overturned on the B1 road at Okahandja.

Senior inspector Maureen Mbeha, the police’s head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa region, says the deceased has been identified as Hiskielik Elia.

His next of kin have been informed of his death on Tuesday, she says.

Mbeha says the accident took place near the Five Rand informal settlement along the B1 road on Monday.

“The driver of the sedan with an Okahandja registration number plate was travelling from the south in a northern direction when it overturned and killed Elia on the spot,” she says.

A passenger (39) in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to Okahandja State Hospital.

Police investigations continue.
