Man stabbed to death over owed N$5

Kauna Shikwambi

Police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi has reported three murder cases over the weekend.

It is alleged that a 30-year-old woman was stabbed with a knife at Heroes Park on Sunday.

According to the police report, it is alleged that witnesses saw two suspects chasing the victim, with one of the suspects stabbing her and running away while the other went to stand near a house and put on black clothes.

Despite being rushed to Otjiwarongo State Hospital, the unidentified victim succumbed to her injuries around 07h00 the same day.
Police investigations are ongoing, and the next of kin have not yet been informed.

In a separate incident, 21-year-old man identified as Ui-Basen Nowaseb was fatally stabbed in Mondesa, Swakopmund.

According to the crime report, “the deceased and two friends were on their way home from a shebeen, but the deceased was walking ahead of the others when he was intercepted and attacked by the suspect.”

Shikwambi says witnesses reported that the victim and the suspect wrestled before the suspect fled.

She says items found at the scene include a yellow denim hat, a navy blue Havianna sandal and a golden sharp object believed to belong to the suspect.

The next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.

Markus Willem Theodor (21) was stabbed to death at Gemsbock Bar, in Gibeon, on Sunday.

It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect argued over a N$5,00 that the deceased owed the suspect for a long period of time. He demanded that the victim pay him immediately.

According to the police, the deceased could not pay back the money, so the suspect stabbed him.

Theodor was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle but died while being attended to by nurses.

The suspect, a 25-year-old male, has been arrested. The next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.

The police urges anyone with information about these incidents to come forward to aid in their investigations.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on Friday after he allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl at Elyambala village at Ongwediva.
This is according to the weekend crime report.

It is alleged that the suspect found the victim playing in a tree and ordered her to go with him to a garage inside an abandoned buidling where he assaulted her.

The suspect has been arrested and police investigations continue.

In a separate incident, a 21-year-old woman was raped on Saturday by a 20-year-old man at Mbunguletu flats at Oshikuku.

The suspect has been arrested and will appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court. Police investigations continue.

Furthermore, a 19-year-old man raped a 17-year-old girl on Saturday at the Onaniki village in the Omusati region.

It is alleged that the suspect pulled the victim into a room and raped her.
